This is a great webiste with a wealth of stuff relating information and communication technology. It is worth a look (beleive me) in this ever changing techno world of ours.

Its Brief: JISC works within the area of further and higher education by providing strategic guidance, advice and opportunities to use information and communication technology to support teaching, learning, research and administration. It is also a national academic mailing service, facilitating discussion, collaboration and communication within the UK academic community.
